Create your first AR artwork

You can create an AR experience in minutes, with no coding. Upload a trigger image, add your digital layers, and publish.

  1. Log in to Artivive Editor (Bridge) and click "Create Artwork".
  2. Add your trigger image - the image scanned by the Artivive App or WebAR to display your animation. It can be a photo, a drawing, or any picture.
  3. Add your digital layers - upload your own image, video, audio or 3D files, try the pre-made AR layer templates, or browse the elements library.
  4. Toggle 2D / 3D view for better control, and move, rotate and scale your layers.
  5. Name and publish your artwork.
  6. Preview Mode lets you test the experience - especially useful for Timeline and Sequences interactions - before publishing.
  7. Scan it with the Artivive App or the WebAR QR code and watch your artwork come to life.

The Bridge editor & its features

Artivive Editor (Bridge) turns static images into interactive AR by combining digital layers - video, animation, sound, motion effects and interactive timelines. No coding or technical skills required.

Transforming layers

Move, rotate and scale any layer to adjust its position, orientation and size - either with the on-screen transform handles, or by entering exact numeric values in the Transform panel for precise control.

Particle effects

Add dynamic motion elements such as sparks, dust or smoke. Customise speed, direction, size and density, and choose from pre-made templates, preloaded effect images, or your own assets. Particle effects add depth, atmosphere and movement.

3D spatial sound

The 3D Sound button creates spatial audio that reacts to the viewer's position. In Logarithmic mode the sound rises gradually as the viewer moves closer and is never fully muted. In Linear mode the sound is only active within a defined sphere and is silent outside it - useful for precise, spatially controlled triggers. You can adjust both spheres in the editor.

AR Mode editing

Select your artwork, click the three dots and choose "Edit artwork" to open the 3D editor, then click the AR button and scan your target image to enter AR Mode. You can add layers, move/rotate/scale elements and adjust settings in real time, with every change visible instantly in AR.

Timeline & Sequences

What is Timeline?

Timeline is Artivive's animation and sequencing feature: move, rotate, scale, transform and time your layers directly inside the editor, with no coding. You can animate images and 2D elements, videos, sound, text, 3D objects and grouped layers. Timeline is available for Pro Plus subscribers.

How it works

Add Actions that define how layers behave over time. Available actions:

  • Move To - move a layer to a new position
  • Rotate To - rotate a layer by a chosen amount
  • Scale By - scale a layer up or down
  • Transform To - move, rotate and scale in one action
  • Show / Hide - make layers appear or disappear at set times

Drag an action onto the timeline, then connect it to a layer with the "Layer to Affect" dropdown (unconnected actions show an orange icon). Adjust the length of the action bar to set speed, pick a Speed Curve (Linear, Ease In, Elastic and more) for natural motion, and set the Duration at the top to define the loop length. You can also animate entire groups so all elements move together.

Sequences

Sequences extends Timeline from a single looping animation into a reactive, multi-state experience - different "chapters" or states that change based on user input or timing, like a playable instrument or a "choose your own adventure" story.

Open the Timeline panel to find the main "Artwork Sequence" (the idle state). Add sequences with the + icon, then connect them by selecting a layer, adding an On Tap interaction, choosing Trigger Sequence and picking the sequence to run. Each sequence can Loop or Reset. Sequences adds flow-control actions like Manage Sequence, Change Interaction and Play Animation.

Preview Mode is your diagnostic tool: play, tap and transition through your artwork exactly as a user would, with notifications each time a sequence stops or plays - so you can troubleshoot timing and broken links before publishing.

With Sequences you can build tap-timing games (like tic-tac-toe), interactive puzzles, playable AR instruments, layered sound experiences, and multi-path interactive video. Upgrade to Pro Plus for Timeline and Sequences.

WebAR

WebAR (browser-based AR) lets a viewer scan a QR code or open a URL to see your AR with no app download. One link can hold a single artwork or a folder of up to 10 artworks - anyone with the URL can view them.

Get started with WebAR

You need a Pro Plus or Business subscription. Open an artwork's options menu and select "Publish as WebAR" (the artwork must be error-free). For a folder of up to 10 artworks, publish them all at once from the folder options.

  • Add to a folder: if the folder has fewer than 10 artworks, move one in and re-publish - the URL will not change.
  • Update: edit the artwork as usual, then reload the WebAR page for the latest version.
  • Unpublish: open the options menu, choose "Manage WebAR" and "Disable WebAR".
Beta limitations: no Timeline support in WebAR yet; on iOS only one video layer with audio plays, and audio may need a tap to unmute outside App Clips. Always test with the WebAR player before sharing.

Views & limits

You can upload unlimited artworks, but each subscription includes a monthly view limit that applies to your whole account, not per artwork. Example: on Pro (1,000 views), all your artworks combined can be viewed up to 1,000 times per month. We email you at 50%, 80% and 100% of your limit. When you hit the limit, a "Views limit reached" message appears over artworks until you add more views.

Two ways to add views:

  • Upgrade your plan - change or cancel anytime; annual saves 35%+.
  • Buy a view add-on - a one-time top-up for the current month (paid accounts only):
Add-onPrice
2,000 views€39.90
5,000 views€59.90
10,000 views€99.90
20,000 views€199.90

Viewing AR experiences

Artivive AR can be viewed two ways: in the browser with WebAR, or through the Artivive app for iOS and Android.

WebAR (browser)

Scan the QR code with your camera to open the experience, press Start, then scan the artworks to see the AR content appear instantly - no install required.

The Artivive app

The free app views any Artivive artwork. Download it from Google Play or the App Store, open it and point your camera at a trigger image - no login needed to view. Log in with your account to create, edit and use AR mode.

White Label WebAR (Enterprise)

White Label WebAR runs on your own brand and domain, opens in the browser with no app, and is included in the Artivive Enterprise subscription. It brings print, packaging and physical spaces to life with a drag-and-drop editor, unlimited exportable-statistics views, and priority support.

How set-up works

  • We brand it - share your logo, colours and domain; setup and hosting (except the domain) are on us.
  • You create - your team builds experiences in the drag-and-drop editor, no code needed.
  • You publish - share a branded link or QR code; audiences scan and it plays instantly.

What we need from you

General: domain (and whether you want www), support email, X/Twitter link. Metadata: title, description, author, copyright. Brand assets: logo (.svg), sharing logo (.png/.jpg), favicon (.svg). Logo layout: height, margin, panel padding. Colours: your brand colour for the AR experience.

An active Enterprise subscription is required. Once we have everything, integration goes live on average within 3 business days. Contact support to activate.

Redeem a subscription with a coupon code

  1. Register (or log in). Sign up with Clever, Google, Facebook or email, and make sure your account is activated.
  2. Redeem: log in to Bridge, open your profile, click "redeem gift", enter your coupon/gift code and click redeem.
  3. Your subscription is applied and you can start creating right away.

Frequently asked questions

The most common questions about your account, WebAR and views.
Does WebAR require an app download?

No. WebAR runs in the phone's browser - viewers scan a QR code or open a URL. The Artivive app is only needed for app-based AR or to recognise artworks that are not WebAR-enabled.

Are views counted with WebAR?

Yes. Views work exactly the same way as they do with the standalone iOS and Android apps.

What happens to my WebAR artworks if I unsubscribe?

WebAR needs an active Pro Plus or Business subscription. If you return to a Free account, the WebAR artworks can no longer be scanned.

How do I add an artwork to an existing WebAR folder?

If the folder holds fewer than 10 artworks, move one more in and select "Publish as WebAR" on the artwork or folder - the URL stays the same. If it already holds 10, move one out first.

How many views does each plan include?

Free gives 50 lifetime views, Pro 1,000/month, Pro Plus 5,000/month, and Business a negotiated volume. The limit applies to your whole account, not per artwork.

How do I get more views if I hit my limit?

Either upgrade your plan (annual billing saves 35%+) or buy a one-time view add-on from your dashboard: 2,000 for €39.90 up to 20,000 for €199.90. Add-ons are for paid accounts only.
